About The Position

The HVAC Service Apprentice performs field activities supporting the installation, maintenance, and servicing of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems at customer sites. The role assists with preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration after installation, and uses technical training to maintain systems. The apprentice works independently and as part of a team to help ensure customer satisfaction, completes repairs and required paperwork, and performs other duties as assigned. This position has no supervisory responsibility. Work may take place at multiple job sites and may require travel.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a commercial HVAC mechanical support role, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, attend to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Ability to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
• Must pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may need to satisfactorily complete additional background checks, such as DMV or criminal-history checks.
• Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to correctly identify colors of color-coded cables and wires, and have close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working aloft, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, and standing or walking for long periods.

Nice To Haves

• HVAC trade school graduate.
• EPA or NATE certification.
• Prior military experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
