About The Position

The HVAC Service Apprentice supports field activities associated with installing, maintaining, and servicing heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems at customer sites. The role assists with preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration after installation, and uses technical training to help maintain systems. The apprentice works independently or as part of a team to support customer satisfaction and performs other assigned duties. This position has no supervisory responsibilities and may require travel and reporting to multiple job sites.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a commercial HVAC mechanical support role, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork.
• Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may need to complete additional background checks, such as DMV or criminal history checks.
• Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
• Ability to perform the physical and environmental requirements of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for long periods, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, working aloft, and using hands to handle tools or controls.
• Ability to correctly identify colors in color-coded cables or wires and meet the stated vision requirements.

Nice To Haves

• HVAC trade school graduate.
• EPA or NATE certification.
• Prior military experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
