About The Position
Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Physical Plant Services is hiring an HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic to install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems and refrigeration units across campus. The position involves diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and cleaning, adjusting, and repairing HVAC systems. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 45-minute lunch, and Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The hourly rate is $21.05. Requirements
- Two years of experience or training in the installation and/or maintenance of heating, ventilating, or air conditioning systems.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to be certified through the Southeastern Defensive Driving Course.
- Appropriate EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, 1990; Southeastern requires Type IV, Universal Certification. The posting states that the selected candidate may acquire the certification within 60 days in the position description and within 30 days in the exam, license, and special requirements section.
