About The Position

OLH Inc. is seeking an HVAC Principal Designer for a one-year assignment with two optional one-year renewals. One position is available, and U.S. citizenship is required. The designer will use CAD drafting applications to create drawings and 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity, interpret and produce design drawings, and work with minimal engineering supervision. The role includes walking down field systems, interpreting field direction, developing design details, creating and modifying drawings, and directing, checking, and approving other designers’ work. The designer will also develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, key-quantity tracking reports, and project scopes. The position focuses on advanced HVAC system design, including load calculations, airflow and instrument diagrams, sequences of operation, equipment sizing and specifications, duct sizing and routing, and HVAC specifications. The role follows a scheduled 40-hour work week using one of several SRS schedules: 5/8s, 4/10s, or 9/80s. Work weeks exclude SRS holidays, and each workday includes a 30-minute lunch. Overtime may be expected at times to meet deliverables, at the manager’s discretion.
