About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Systems Apprentice Tech to learn and work on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites. The role includes factory-certified training through the Service Technical Academy (STA), coaching and mentorship from experienced professionals, and tools and a vehicle to perform the job. Apprentices develop the skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs, provide customer service and recommendations to improve facility efficiency, and support solutions through quotes. The position is union and requires attendance at required first-year Union training.

Requirements

At least 1 year of industry experience or experience servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
Generally required knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and outside contacts ethically and professionally.
Leadership skills to support Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment at a job site.
Ability to be self-starting and eventually work independently.
Prioritize safety in all forms.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of trade school or college with a technical emphasis.
