About The Position

The Human Services Technician assists agency staff and supervisors in providing human services to families involved in Child Protective Services (CPS) cases. The position transports clients to appointments, supervises parent-child visits, documents client contact and services, maintains appointment calendars, and performs clerical functions. It interacts routinely with DFPS staff, representatives of other organizations, and the public. The role may also involve working with DFPS caseworkers to supervise children without placement, primarily children ages 10 to 17, and helping monitor their safety and needs—including food, hygiene, education, and recreational activities—during stays at office or community locations. The position requires frequent travel to homes and offices within and outside the assigned region, occasional overnight travel, and flexibility to respond to last-minute travel needs. Work outside the normal schedule may be required, with overtime compensation potentially earned.
