About The Position

This internship position is for individuals enrolled in a degree program who require internship hours for their studies. The internship is within the Human Services field and offers flexible hours during weekdays. Interns will gain experience in various programs and provide support to clients by coaching, teaching, and assisting them in pursuing their goals. The role involves administrative tasks like writing case notes, supporting client engagement, and participating in team discussions about client progress. Additional support may include assisting with group facilitation and client intakes. The position emphasizes building on client abilities and maximizing their potential.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program that will grant credit hours for their internship.
  • Must be in a Human Services or related degree program.
  • Ability to maintain healthy boundaries with clients.
  • Maintain an encouraging and accepting environment.
  • Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Human Services experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coach/teach/demonstrate new skills to clients.
  • Shadow and assist team.
  • Assist in writing case notes.
  • Support the individual to participate in meaningful activities.
  • Aid the individual in pursuing personal interests and aspirations.
  • Model appropriate boundaries and behaviors.
  • Observe and report on activity engagement trends.
  • Participate in the discussion of clients’ individual valued outcomes, core competencies, and progress.
  • Assist with group facilitation.
  • Assist with client intakes.
  • Build on the individual's abilities and maximize their potential.
