About The Position

Economy Wholesale Grocers is seeking a Human Resources Intern for its Headquarters Corporate Offices in El Paso, Texas. This internship provides practical exposure to HR administration and projects, the employee lifecycle, and HR practices in a warehouse and distribution environment. The intern will support recruiting, onboarding, employee records and HRIS, attendance and payroll-related processes, benefits and leave administration, training, employee engagement, performance management documentation, compliance, and workplace safety. The role also offers learning opportunities in HR reporting and analytics, employee communications, and professional HR practices and confidentiality. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

Requirements

• Be a sophomore through senior currently enrolled in a college or university program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Previous administrative experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day HR administrative activities and projects.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, and new-hire onboarding activities.
• Maintain and organize employee records and HRIS information.
• Assist with attendance, timekeeping, and payroll-related processes.
• Support employee benefits, open enrollment, and leave administration.
• Prepare HR documents, reports, spreadsheets, and employee communications.
• Assist with training, employee engagement, and HR projects.
• Support performance management and employee relations documentation under HR direction.
• Assist with HR compliance and recordkeeping activities.
• Gain exposure to workplace safety and HR practices within a warehouse/distribution environment.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
