About The Position

The Human Resources Intern supports OTTO’s HR Team by performing a variety of duties. The intern will assist with HR communications, recruiting, employee activities, and workplace initiatives, while learning the company’s HR policies and benefits to help respond to internal staff inquiries. This is a Summer 2027 internship paying $16 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in college and seeking a degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Well organized and accurate, with the ability to work independently.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and update company job descriptions.
• Assist the HR Generalist with the monthly employee newsletter.
• Update all bulletin boards.
• Conduct annual employee vision screenings.
• Assist with yearly fire and tornado drills.
• Take photos of company events as needed.
• Help with company events, including picnics and cookouts.
• Assist the Recruiter with dispositioning applicants.
• Learn the company’s HR policies and benefits to help respond to internal staff inquiries.
• Attend weekly department meetings.
• Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
