About The Position

Landscape Garden Centers is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist with strong recruiting expertise to support our growing, field-based workforce. This role leads full-cycle recruiting and provides day-to-day HR support across the organization, ensuring we attract, hire, and retain great people who thrive in our fast-paced, outdoor, and team-oriented environment. This is a working HR role, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategic improvements with daily execution, and who is energized by supporting employees across retail, field operations, and administrative teams.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of HR experience, preferably in landscaping, construction, retail, or other field-based/blue collar industries
  • Strong experience in recruiting and hiring across multiple role types.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recruiting platforms.

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
  • Experience with seasonal or high-volume hiring.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for all roles (field, retail, administrative, and seasonal).
  • Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs and role requirements.
  • Create and manage job postings across platforms (Indeed, social media, community networks).
  • Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates for skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Build and maintain a year-round pipeline for seasonal and full-time positions.
  • Support internship, seasonal hiring, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Oversee the H2 Seasonal Worker Immigration process.
  • Strengthen employer branding and improve recruiting processes.
  • Administer HR policies, procedures, and employee programs.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, documentation, and HR systems.
  • Coordinate onboarding, new hire orientation, and early engagement.
  • Support performance management and employee development processes.
  • Assist with employee relations, conflict resolution, and coaching conversations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support benefits administration and employee communication.
  • Assist with compensation planning and market benchmarking.
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety standards, and labor regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve hiring, retention, and HR workflows.
  • Track and report key HR metrics, including hiring timelines, turnover, and retention.
  • Recommend and implement practical HR solutions aligned with company goals.
