About The Position

Primarily a recruiting and staffing role with secondary responsibilities in organizational training and development. This role works with leadership to understand and fulfill departmental hiring needs, leads full lifecycle recruiting and onboarding, and develops the employment brand. The Generalist will propose and own the Annual Recruiting Plan, using data to make recommendations that impact company culture and track performance. Creative sourcing methodologies will be employed to find quality candidates aligned with the company's Mission, Values, and compliance initiatives. Job descriptions and postings will be created in collaboration with hiring managers, ensuring ADP is updated and the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is maintained with candidate data. Screening criteria will be developed, and candidates will be interviewed and assessed using behavioral-based methods. The role involves coordinating interviews for exempt candidates, negotiating offers, conducting reference and background checks, and collaborating with hiring managers on best fits and offer processes. New hire orientations and retention initiatives will be supported, along with training for hiring managers on interviewing techniques and legal issues. All employees will be trained on the company's Mission, Vision, Values, and cultural initiatives. Strong relationships with company leaders will be fostered to ensure successful outcomes. Human resource generalist skills will be applied to departmental goals and projects as time permits. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Two to five years of experience in a staffing role
  • One year of training experience
  • Strong verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organization skills
  • Models professional behaviors and demonstrates a passion for teaching, coaching and leading others.
  • Experience with the use of social media in recruiting, training and employee communications.
  • Human Resource Generalist experience in a world class manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Organizational Development, Social Sciences, Business Management, Human Resources or relevant field is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English desired.

Responsibilities

  • Works with leadership to fully understand and carry out the hiring needs of the department/organization.
  • Leads full lifecycle recruiting and onboarding activities for all positions.
  • Develops employment brand, trains on employment brand and communicates the benefits and culture of working at Peterson Farms to potential and existing team members.
  • Proposes and owns Annual Recruiting Plan.
  • Uses data to make recommendations that affect the company culture and metrics to report performance goals.
  • Identifies and deploys creative methodologies for sourcing quality candidates that are compliant with our Mission, Values and compliance initiatives.
  • Creates job descriptions and postings by working with hiring managers to understand the role of the position and selects the most appropriate posting process (internal, external or both); ensures ADP is updated.
  • Ensures the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) has a record of resume and candidate activity and processing; and performs or coordinates the entry of candidate data into the ATS for reporting purposes.
  • Creates screening criteria for reviewing applications and resumes for all levels of the organization.
  • Interviews and assesses candidates using behavioral-based/targeted selection interview questions and obtain salary requirements for prospective employees.
  • Coordinates search team interviews for exempt level candidates, serving as part of the interviewing search team, the negotiation of the offer of employment, and conducting reference and background checks.
  • Collaborates with hiring manager to determine best fit candidates, coordinate interviews for exempt personnel, receive timely feedback and manage offer process.
  • Works with the hiring manager to establish start dates, relocation details, and new hire orientation arrangements.
  • Supports retention and plant to management level training initiatives.
  • Trains hiring managers on interviewing techniques and legal issues regarding the hiring process.
  • Trains all employees on Mission, Vision, Values, as well as policy and cultural initiatives in the workplace.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with company leaders to create a partnership that yields success, predictable results and credibility.
  • Supports departmental goals and projects using human resource generalist skills as time allows.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
