About The Position

Atwood Companies is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support its growing organization across property management, real estate, and mortgage operations. The ideal candidate will enjoy helping people, solving problems, creating consistency, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of Human Resources. This role is suited for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys balancing people and process, and aims to make a significant impact on the employee experience. This is an in-office position based in Mankato, Minnesota.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two or more years of Human Resources experience
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and Minnesota employment laws
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR software platforms

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM, HRCI or other relevant certification
  • Experience supporting a multi-location workforce
  • Experience with ADP TotalSource or similar HRIS/payroll systems

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating recruiting, onboarding, and new hire orientation
  • Administering payroll, benefits, leave administration, and HRIS processes
  • Supporting employee relations, policy interpretation, and performance management
  • Maintaining HR records and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies
  • Assisting with training coordination, employee communications, and compliance reporting
  • Supporting employee recognition, engagement, wellness, and company events
  • Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and systems
  • Staying current on employment laws and HR best practices while helping leadership navigate regulatory changes
