About The Position

The Human Resources Director plans, organizes, and oversees the hospital’s Human Resources department to ensure equitable treatment of employees and compliance with legal requirements and company policies. The role fosters an inclusive, productive workplace culture and implements employee programs, policies, and procedures. The director serves as a liaison between Home Office HR and hospital management, and as a resource to department managers and employees. Responsibilities also include coordinating staff education programs, overseeing workers’ compensation, assisting with benefits administration, and directing hospital recruitment and retention to ensure appropriate staffing resources. The position is with Encompass Health, a national inpatient rehabilitation company.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Personnel Administration, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant work experience may substitute for a four-year degree on a year-for-year basis.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of Human Resources Management experience.

Nice To Haves

• Human Resources Management experience in healthcare.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
