About The Position

The New Reach Human Resources Assistant position, within the Office of Community Engagement, is a Federal Work-Study student employment opportunity. This role involves supporting the HR department with various administrative tasks, including document management, record keeping, onboarding logistics, and responding to basic HR inquiries. The assistant will also contribute to the development of HR tools and policy updates.

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Applicants must have sufficient time available during the operational hours to work between 6-8 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior administrative or customer service experience is helpful, but not required
  • Prior staff assistant or HR support experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Upload, organize and maintain digital employee documents
  • File and organize physical personnel records and conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and operational procedures
  • Assist with organizing onboarding schedules, new hire packets and logistics for new hires
  • Respond to basic HR-related inquiries
  • Assist in developing HR tools, employee surveys and updating policy documents and employee handbook
  • Other duties as assigned
