About The Position

The Department of Corrections, Division of Administration & Support, is recruiting for a Human Resource Technician 3 Payroll position located in Juneau, Alaska. This role oversees Statewide Payroll Services staff, develops and delivers technical payroll training, and performs advanced technical work completing, processing, and auditing of personnel and payroll documents. The mission is to process all payroll transactions accurately, efficiently, and timely, providing dependable service, transparent communication, and stellar customer service. Administrative Services provides essential centralized oversight to the operations of the Department in support of its mission to provide secure confinement, reformative programs, and a process of supervised community integration of releasing offenders to enhance the safety of our communities.

Requirements

  • One year of journey technical level human resource experience (equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or elsewhere).
  • OR One year of technical level dispatching experience as an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher.
  • OR Two years of postsecondary education (64 semester hours or 96 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university in any field.
  • OR Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours per month) from an accredited college or university and human resources experience at the journey technical level.
  • OR Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours per month) from an accredited college or university and technical level dispatching experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance to use the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN).
  • Must pass a criminal history check.
  • Must be fingerprinted.
