About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Service is recruiting for a Human Resource Technician 2 located in Juneau, Alaska! Join the Department of Fish & Game's (DFG) Human Resource team to provide guidance and support DFG's staff. Under the general direction of the Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP), this position provides journey level human resource technical assistance to DFG managers, supervisors, and employees. This position provides technical support assisting with DFG's Recruitment, providing accurate human resource information to hiring managers and employees of Fish & Game. The work done in the Division of Administrative Services (DAS)- Human Resource Section, is to directly support all departmental programs with necessary services to ensure we meet department, divisional, and federal objectives. Requirements

  • Six months of entry technical level experience in human resource work equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
  • Graduation from high school or the equivalent and one year of advanced clerical experience.
  • One year of postsecondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours from an accredited college or university equals one year) in any field.
  • Knowledge of HR concepts, principles, and practices related to identifying, attracting, and selecting individuals and placing them into positions to address changing organizational needs.
  • Knowledge of hiring, classification, benefits, labor relations, negotiation, and Federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Ability to encourage and facilitate cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity; foster commitment and team spirit; work with others to achieve goals.
  • Ability to anticipate and meet the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems; weigh relevance and accuracy of information; generate and evaluate alternative solutions; make recommendations.
