About The Position

Monash University is seeking an HSW Business Partner to serve as a trusted strategic advisor across assigned faculties, divisions or schools. The role partners with senior leaders, staff and students to provide authoritative safety advice, shape risk management strategies, and foster a proactive culture of physical and psychological wellbeing within the university’s ISO 45001-accredited framework.

Reporting to the Manager HSW, the HSW Business Partner leads complex hazard investigations, analyses safety metrics to prepare executive briefings, and delivers targeted training workshops. The role also builds consultative networks with safety committees, Health & Safety Representatives, and partners such as HR and Security to support consistent, high-quality service delivery and continuous process improvement across the university.

Requirements

• Postgraduate qualifications in HSW or equivalent experience.
• A strong track record of strategic partnering in a large, complex organisation.
• Exceptional consulting, analytical and communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of relevant safety legislation.
• A strong understanding of the contemporary HSW landscape in the tertiary sector.
