About The Position

This position provides advanced-level technical Human Resource Service Center support and guidance within a designated areas of specialized expertise such as FMLA/LOA Administration. This includes relevant knowledge in other areas related to a leave of absence such as benefits, disability, workers compensation, HRIS, Kronos, Cyborg and ADA accommodation. Provides advanced level interpretation and guidance on applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to the FMLA/LOA process. Lead and resolve complex issues with data integrity. Develop and maintain operating processes to the highest level of performance.

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience performing a variety of administrative/technical support functions in the fields of human resources, payroll, benefits, employment, training or directly-related disciplines.
Prior work experience must have included performance of advanced specialized technical tasks to include assistance with project development, participation in the development and recommendation of operating policies, processes, and procedural improvements; and research and analysis of complex data related to a designated area of specialized expertise.
Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license Class D and state mandated minimum insurance coverage.
Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.

Nice To Haves

Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelor’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.
SPHR, PHR SHRM-CP, SHRMSCP certification preferred

Responsibilities

Strong Interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals, ability to adapt to different communication styles and use tact and diplomacy to resolve issues.
Subject matter expert on managing the leave policy and practices of the company. This person will communicate with employees and managers of all levels, as well as physicians’ offices as needed.
Ability to provide clear technical guidance and instruction to non-technical personnel.
Ability to exercise independent initiative, judgment, and problem resolution skills in performing complex human resources specialty activities within the area of leave management.
Ability to extrapolate data from multiple systems to ensure accurate records that are in compliance with current leaves laws and regulations.
Working knowledge of state and federal laws related to Leave of Absence/FMLA/ADA/Workers Compensation.
May provide day to day oversight to lower level.
Must be able to work in a fast paced challenging environment with multiple tasks that need to be completed simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Must possess exemplary data management skills and ability to use analytical problem solving and critical thinking.
One member in the HR Service Rep I or II job will have responsibility for review of the TN Disciplinary Action Report.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Completes required education assignments annually.
Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Advanced Excel skills.
Local Travel Required.
