HR/Payroll Representative

About The Position

The Office of the Vice President for Finance is seeking an HR/Payroll Representative to process, audit, and service all HR and Payroll-related transactions for MIT Faculty, Staff, and Students. This role involves reviewing, researching, and effectively communicating complex payroll issues to affected parties, as well as identifying and recommending opportunities for improvements in systems and processes. The representative will provide excellent customer service to the MIT Community and external customers, and build productive working relationships. A full job description can be viewed here.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of three years of experience in payroll, finance, and/or HR
  • Ability to understand payroll concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with video conferencing and collaboration tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work, balance competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet performance metrics assigned for the unit

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with Cognos, SAP, or Brio query tools
  • MIT experience
