About The Position

The HR Manager in Dallas, TX is responsible for a broad range of HR functions including employee relations, payroll management, benefits administration, and multi-state compliance. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, addressing performance issues, disciplinary actions, investigations, and conflict resolution. The position also supports leave management (FMLA, ADA, state-specific leaves), develops and implements HR policies and procedures, and manages onboarding and offboarding processes for both corporate and property-level employees. Collaboration with Finance and Operations is key for headcount planning, payroll forecasting, and workforce reporting. The role oversees multi-state payroll processes, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements, and partners with third-party payroll providers for audits and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, with direct responsibility for payroll and employee relations.
  • Direct experience working within a multifamily property management company and a strong understanding of the employee relations, compliance, recruiting, and operational challenges unique to a geographically dispersed property management workforce.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi state payroll and labor compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, state wage laws).
  • Experience supporting hourly, distributed, or operations heavy workforces (property management, hospitality, retail, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Support leave management (FMLA, ADA, state‑specific leaves).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for both corporate and property‑level employees.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations on headcount planning, payroll forecasting, and workforce reporting.
  • Oversee multi‑state payroll processes for salaried and hourly employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with third‑party payroll providers to manage audits, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
