About The Position

HYROX is a global sports event series that combines running and functional fitness training in a unique race format. Founded in Germany in 2017, HYROX has evolved into a worldwide fitness movement with events across five continents, attracting tens of thousands of athletes every season. As our presence expands rapidly across North America and into new regional markets, we operate as one united Global People Team—collaborating across borders to build a high-performing, resilient People Ops foundation for our growing international workforce. To support our rapid growth across North America, we are seeking a hands-on, highly collaborative HR Manager (m/f/d) to strategically drive day-to-day HR operations in the U.S., serve as the bridge between global HQ and local execution, and provide direct leadership to our local People team member. In our integrated matrix structure, you will be the key regional interface—adapting global policies locally while connecting teams with HQ shared services like Recruitment, IT and Global Mobility.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years in HR Operations or People Operations
  • 1+ years of experience guiding, mentoring, or managing team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to navigate ambiguity, overcome operational hurdles, and proactively drive solutions as we scale.
  • Ability to take global HR frameworks and effectively adapt, localize, and implement them to fit U.S., Canadian, or LatAm legal and cultural standards.
  • Proven ability to build team connection, trust, and engagement through operational frameworks, clear communication strategies, and manager enablement.
  • Hands-on experience working in a Mac OS and Google Workspace environment, with strong proficiency using modern global workforce platforms (such as Deel or Remote), established U.S. payroll/HRIS tools (such as ADP, BambooHR, or Workday), and contemporary collaboration and project management applications (such as Slack, Notion, Asana, Monday, or Jira).
  • A hands-on operational mindset that enjoys daily administrative participation paired with the managerial maturity to lead and support local staff.
  • Thrive in operating in fast-paced, high-growth scale-up environments with a strong bias for action and comfort navigating changing structures.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven track record working within an international matrix structure, collaborating closely with European corporate HQs and global shared service centers.
  • Experience with global mobility and/or international HR, including cross-border employment, international assignments, immigration/work authorization, social security considerations, and coordination with local or external advisors.
  • Conversational or professional bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to support regional touchpoints across Latin America.
  • Enthusiasm for fitness, active lifestyle culture, or mass-participation event operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operational execution across the employee lifecycle, ensuring reliable support in payroll coordination, statutory benefits, onboarding/offboarding, and HRIS maintenance.
  • Serve as the core interface between global HQ in Germany and local North American operations, translating global People strategy into compliant, culturally aligned local execution, and partnering directly with global shared service functions like Recruitment and Global Mobility.
  • Serve as the regional subject matter expert on U.S. labor standards, multi-state compliance, employee vs. contractor classifications (FLSA/state standards), and payroll workflows, assessing local risk and advising on compliant execution as headcount grows.
  • Maintain system integrity and drive data accuracy across global and domestic workforce platforms, keeping employee records structured and actionable across borders.
  • Serve as an approachable, highly present partner to local employees and leaders, fostering a culture of psychological safety, trust, and proactive solution-seeking while supporting an authentic, highly engaged U.S. team culture.
  • Lead and develop the local People team, providing coaching, mentorship, and exposure to increasingly complex HR initiatives while creating opportunities for team members to expand their scope and capabilities.
