About The Position

The Mgr, Organizational Design will serve as Ensemble's primary subject-matter expert for org structure analysis during a targeted organizational effectiveness engagement. This contractor will own the design and execution of enterprise wide organizational design charting and spans-and-layers analysis across designated business units. Individual will work in tandem with Leader to develop multiple future-state org design frameworks, and produce executive-grade deliverables that inform structural decisions. The analyst will work independently, bringing deep expertise in org design methodology, and will coordinate directly with HR Business Partners, Finance, and Operational Senior Leaders to gather data, validate findings, and finalize recommendations. This position is being offered as a temporary, project-based contract engagement to support a targeted organizational effectiveness initiative. The individual selected for this role will serve as an independent contractor or contractor through an approved staffing partner, as applicable. This engagement is expected to be limited in duration and is tied to the completion of defined organizational design deliverables. This position is not benefits-eligible and does not create an employment relationship with Ensemble Health Partners. The contractor will not be eligible for company-sponsored benefits, incentive programs, paid time off, or other employee benefits unless otherwise by applicable law. Ensemble Health Partners reserves the right to modify, extend, or conclude the engagement based on business needs, project requirements, or organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA strongly preferred.
  • 4–7 years of progressive experience in organizational design, HR consulting, organizational effectiveness, or management consulting.
  • Demonstrated expertise conducting organizational review, org charting, spans-and-layers analysis, and developing multi-scenario org design recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in org-charting tools (e.g., Lucid) for structural modeling.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex structural data into clear, executive-grade written recommendations.
  • Experience partnering directly with Director- and VP-level business leaders and HR Business Partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, revenue cycle, or large-scale services organizations.
  • Familiarity with Workday HCM as a source of org and headcount data.
  • SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP, or equivalent organizational effectiveness certification.
  • Prior exposure to post-merger integration, operating model redesign, or large-scale restructuring programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct current-state spans-and-layers analysis across designated business units; benchmark against industry norms and Ensemble's operating model; identify structural inefficiencies and optimization opportunities.
  • Build accurate, visually consistent org charts in approved tooling (e.g., Lucid) maintain a single source of truth through engagement close.
  • Develop and pressure-test two to three structural scenarios (e.g., centralized vs. federated models, span-widening options); quantify headcount, cost, and accountability implications for each.
  • Author concise executive-ready memos and presentation decks that translate structural analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for Leaders.
  • Conduct structured discovery sessions with business leaders to surface design principles, constraints, and success criteria.
  • Align with Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Legal on headcount implications; flag dependencies that affect hiring plans or budget cycles.
  • Maintain rigorous version control on all structural models; ensure analysis artifacts are audit-ready and stored per Ensemble's information-security standards.
