The Housing Program Analyst works in the Office of Housing and Community Development, a multi-funded agency supporting and assisting housing programs. The role maintains a caseload of Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) participants and determines eligibility by calculating household income and assets, allowable expenses, family size, and rent amounts due to landlords. The position is grant funded and may be eligible for telework as determined by the Director and Supervisor; it may return to an in-office schedule if business needs change. The analyst interviews and certifies applicants at initial intake and recertification, calculates rental assistance and tenant rent portions, negotiates with landlords, and advises prospective rental families on finding housing in the private market. The analyst manages participant records and documentation, develops relationships with internal and external partners to track progress and address barriers, and provides customer service to staff and participants. The role includes certification meetings and briefings, responding to calls and emails, and managing lease-end procedures, annual and interim certifications, and participant moves. The schedule is Monday through Friday, either 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., for 37.5 hours per week. The starting salary range is $65,910–$87,813 annually. Prince William County offers retirement and savings plans, paid leave and holidays, optional health and life insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, career development opportunities, and Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility for full-time county positions.
