About The Position

Kana Hotel Group seeks a Houseperson to support hotel cleanliness and guest service. The role cleans public areas and other work spaces, assists with guest-room linen and cleaning needs, handles linen supplies and waste, and maintains floors, furnishings, bathrooms, and surfaces. The Houseperson is expected to follow chemical safety guidance, keep the cleaning cart supplied for the shift, and greet guests in a friendly and warm manner. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays may be needed.

Requirements

• Attention to detail.
• Previous customer service experience.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Strip linens from guest rooms and assist with guest-room cleaning as needed.
• Follow the regulations set forth by material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Move and arrange furniture; dust and polish furniture, metalwork, and equipment.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
• Collect soiled linens for laundering and receive and store linen supplies in the linen closet.
• Clean bathrooms and replenish supplies.
• Refurnish rooms with supplies and towels as required.
• Supply the cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for the shift.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays, clean ashtrays, and transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
