About The Position

The Housekeeping employee keeps commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention center, arena, or other institutional premises clean and orderly. The role performs routine cleaning and maintenance tasks across rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas. No prior experience or training is required, and the position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• No prior experience or training is required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information in English in one-on-one and small-group situations.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, including using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
• No computer skills are needed.
• No certifications are needed.
• Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Sweep, scrub, finish, and polish floors.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dust furniture and equipment.
• Polish metalwork.
• Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays.
• Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
