About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor leads the housekeeping team at Homewood Suites Midtown Manhattan and helps ensure guest rooms and public areas are clean, comfortable, and ready for guests. The role includes assigning and reviewing staff work, keeping the team on schedule, inspecting and approving rooms and public areas, overseeing laundry, and ensuring checkout rooms are turned over promptly. The supervisor also interacts with guests in a polite and positive manner and equips room attendants to deliver a strong in-room experience. The position provides training and guidance on hotel Standard Operating Procedures and departmental standards, while monitoring purchasing costs and labor expenses. It requires a customer-service focus, a positive approach to team leadership, and the ability to accommodate varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The work is active and involves standing or sitting, walking, carrying or lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, and climbing stairs.

Requirements

At least one to three years of related experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
A people-oriented approach and ability to lead by example and foster a positive team culture.
Passion for customer service.
Ability to carry or lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, twist, climb stairs, and remain standing or sitting for more than half of the time.
Ability to accommodate varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Lead the housekeeping staff, including assigning and reviewing work.
