About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott North helps maintain hotel cleanliness, a key factor in guest satisfaction and return visits. The role spends most of the shift inspecting guest rooms and public spaces, motivating employees, and ensuring cleanliness standards are met. The supervisor coordinates daily workflows and duties, supports staff training and accountability, and works with other hotel teams to provide a clean and welcoming property.

Requirements

Six months of experience in a similar housekeeping position is desirable.
Engaging and caring personality.
Time-management skills.
Ability to work on feet for an extended period.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions.
Ability to move, traverse, and position oneself to reach floor corners and high places; observe conditions; detect odors; and position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 pounds in tight spaces.
Ability to operate spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, and dusters.
Ability to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well.
Work as a team to accomplish the goal of hotel cleanliness.
Coordinate the day's workflow and distribution of duties.
Inspect guest rooms according to high-quality standards.
Hold department employees accountable for quality standards.
Supervise and train staff to maintain cleanliness standards.
Assist with inventory of linen and supplies.
Assist in completing performance evaluations.
Use judgment and experience to distribute work and assign rooms and duties to staff.
Coordinate activities with the Front Desk Supervisor and staff.
Report maintenance needs.
Ensure employees safely use and handle cleaning chemicals.
Find coverage for callouts or increased room counts.
Perform other related duties as requested by management.
