About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees hotel cleanliness at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott North, which has 315 guest rooms, meeting space, and a restaurant. The supervisor spends most of the shift inspecting guest rooms and public spaces to ensure cleanliness standards are met, and trains and onboards new department employees. The role also motivates staff, coordinates daily assignments, and helps maintain the hotel’s service standards.

Requirements

• Six months of experience in a similar housekeeping position is desirable.
• Engaging and caring personality.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to work on one’s feet for an extended period.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions.
• Ability to move, traverse, and position oneself to reach floor corners and high places; observe conditions and detect odors; and maneuver carts weighing up to 100 pounds in tight spaces.
• Ability to operate spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, and dusters.
• Ability to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well.
• Work as part of a team to achieve hotel cleanliness goals.
• Coordinate daily workflow and distribute duties.
• Inspect guest rooms and public spaces against quality standards.
• Hold department employees accountable for quality standards.
• Supervise, train, and onboard staff to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Assist with inventory of linen and supplies.
• Assist with completing performance evaluations.
• Use judgment and experience to distribute work and assign rooms and duties.
• Coordinate activities with the Front Desk Supervisor and staff.
• Report maintenance needs.
• Ensure employees safely use and handle cleaning chemicals.
• Find coverage for callouts or increased house counts.
• Perform other related duties as requested by Management.
