About The Position

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. This role involves managing a team of housekeeping staff, coordinating schedules, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility. The Housekeeping Manager will develop and implement effective cleaning procedures, monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, this position requires collaboration with other departments to support overall guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Housekeeping Manager plays a critical role in enhancing the guest experience by maintaining impeccable standards and fostering a motivated, well-trained housekeeping team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in housekeeping or hospitality management, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills daily to guide and motivate the housekeeping team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.

  • Knowledge of OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate housekeeping staff to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures, and quality control measures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and proper usage to control costs.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and front office teams to address guest requests, resolve issues, and enhance overall guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, conducting regular inspections and addressing any deficiencies.
  • Prepare reports on housekeeping operations, staffing, and budget management for senior management review.
