About The Position

The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump is seeking a Room Inspector for its Housekeeping department. The position leads housekeeping teams, inspects rooms, supports smooth department operations, and works closely with the Executive Housekeeper and other hotel departments. The role offers an opportunity for detail-oriented candidates interested in a future in hospitality management.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a housekeeper or cleaner.
• Strong guest service skills and clear communication.
• Ability to handle stressful, high-pressure situations, including guest complaints.
• Time-management skills and strong attention to detail.
• Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Dependable transportation.
• Ability to move or operate large objects, including housekeeping carts, suite furniture, large bags of linen, vacuum cleaners, and inventory boxes.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally with help.
• Availability to work day shifts, including weekends and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Room inspection or supervisory experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and supervise Room Attendants and Housepersons in a designated area to ensure rooms and public areas meet cleanliness and quality standards.
• Support daily housekeeping operations with the Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor, and others, including opening or closing the office, leading morning stand-up meetings, and communicating with the Front Desk.
• Assess room inventory, assign rooms for cleaning, and inspect rooms.
• Verify and report room status and discrepancies.
• Monitor linen rooms, carts, and designated inventories.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Department on maintenance and repairs related to guest rooms and public areas.
• Perform Room Attendant, Houseperson, or laundry duties as needed.
• Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and work with the team to address issues and support a positive guest experience.
