About The Position

Performs housekeeping responsibilities to maintain a clean, safe environment throughout the hospital. This position is scheduled for 16 hours, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and includes weekend coverage. Beth Israel Lahey Health requires staff to be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Clean patient rooms daily according to hospital and department standards, using seven-step procedures and properly disinfecting surfaces, restrooms, and floors.
Clean patient discharge rooms.
Clean precaution rooms according to Infection Control policies and use proper disinfectants.
Clean restrooms daily according to hospital and department standards using seven-step procedures.
Clean offices and conference rooms daily according to hospital and department standards using seven-step procedures.
Clean entrances, lobbies, and waiting areas daily according to hospital and department standards using seven-step procedures.
Vacuum carpets according to department procedures.
Clean utility rooms and nourishment stations according to hospital and department standards using seven-step procedures.
Clean corridors and ancillary areas according to hospital and department standards using seven-step procedures.
Clean, strip, refinish, spray buff, shampoo, and maintain floors.
Operate automatic floor machines, buffing machines, shampooing machines, and vacuums.
Assist in maintaining equipment cleanliness.
Assist in training new personnel.
