About The Position

The Housekeeper performs housekeeping duties for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department, primarily in nursing units, to help maintain a safe and clean environment. The role follows established procedures and schedules and meets scheduling requirements and supervisor direction to complete routine housekeeping and laundry services. Duties include cleaning floors, surfaces, restrooms, patient areas, and non-clinical areas, as well as handling and processing linen. The position is at St. Francis Healthcare in Wilmington, Delaware, and is scheduled for the night shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with an every-other-weekend commitment.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of Environmental Services (EVS) or housekeeping experience.
• High school diploma or equivalency is preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine cleaning in assigned areas, predominantly nursing units, following established procedures and schedules.
• Meet scheduling requirements and follow supervisor direction to complete routine housekeeping and laundry services.
• Dust and wet-mop floors; vacuum; dust and damp-wipe surfaces; wash walls; and collect and remove trash.
• Clean restrooms, patient areas, and non-clinical areas.
• Sort, load, and unload linen into and from dryers.
• Feed linen into and receive linen from the ironer/folder.
• Fold and stack linen and load carts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
