Housekeeper - Night Shift

About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and organizing all areas of the facility in accordance with the Housekeeping Cleaning Log, maintaining an adequate supply of cleaning materials, and reporting building deficiencies to the supervisor. The role works the night shift and supports special facilities projects as needed. Daily work includes cleaning facility areas, documenting completed tasks on a checklist, collecting and disposing of trash and cardboard boxes, monitoring janitorial supplies and notifying the purchasing department when replenishment is needed, and keeping the utility room clean and organized. The position requires following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards. Work may involve required personal protective equipment and exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments. The Housekeeper should be able to work independently, follow directions, and handle multiple activities under pressure.

Requirements

Previous experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job, comparable to 0 to 1 year; an appropriate combination of education, training, and/or directly related experience may be considered.
Knowledge of appropriate cleaning methods and procedures.
Ability to read and follow directions.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to learn, understand, and follow OSHA regulations and bloodborne pathogens training.
Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner.
Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours.
Able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
Able to work in non-traditional work environments.
Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.
Some degree of personal protective equipment is required, such as safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, or ear plugs.

Nice To Haves

High school/secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred, with relevant formal academic or vocational qualification.

Responsibilities

Clean all facility areas as indicated in the Housekeeping Cleaning Log.
Document on a checklist that required cleaning tasks have been completed.
Collect and dispose of trash and cardboard boxes daily.
Monitor janitorial supplies and inform the purchasing department when supplies need replenishment.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the utility room.
Report building deficiencies to the supervisor.
Complete additional housekeeping duties as needed to support special facilities projects.
