About The Position

The Housekeeper performs housekeeping duties for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department, providing routine cleaning primarily in nursing units to help maintain a safe and clean environment. The role follows established procedures and schedules and completes housekeeping and laundry services as directed by supervisors. The night shift is 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with an every-other-weekend commitment. The position is at St. Francis Healthcare in Wilmington, Delaware.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of EVS or housekeeping experience.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to speak Spanish fluently (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide routine cleaning to assigned areas, predominantly nursing units, following established procedures and schedules.
• Meet scheduling requirements and follow supervisor direction to complete routine housekeeping and laundry services.
• Dust and wet mop floors; vacuum; dust and damp-wipe surfaces; wash walls; collect and remove trash; and clean restrooms, patient areas, and non-clinical areas.
• Sort, load, and unload linen into and from dryers.
• Feed linen into or receive linen from the ironer/folder.
• Fold and stack linen and load carts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
