Housekeeper - Ambulatory Services (Part Time)
About The Position
Performs specialized cleaning duties to disinfect ambulatory healthcare facilities, including restrooms, patient areas, exam rooms, procedure rooms, and specialty areas. The role is based at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, and is part time, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. No weekends or holidays are required at the CS and Rova Buildings. The fixed pay rate is $15.50 per hour. Crothall Healthcare provides specialized support services exclusively to the healthcare industry. Its Environmental Services team supports healthcare facilities with an emphasis on detail, safety, and excellence. The position also includes maintaining cleaning equipment and storage areas, handling waste, replenishing supplies, and working with alarm systems.
Requirements
- At least six months of prior housekeeping experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Disinfect surfaces using provided chemicals.
- Dust and polish furniture, fittings, vents, window sills, and ledges.
- Clean reception glass and entrance windows.
- Move chairs, stools, waste, linen and biohazardous-waste bins, small wheeled equipment, scales, and other items to clean properly, then return items to the recommended layout.
- Clean floors by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Perform carpet and upholstery spot cleaning.
- Collect and dispose of general trash and biohazardous waste.
- Routinely clean general trash and biohazardous-waste containers.
- Replenish soap, sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and other supplies.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean and orderly operating condition.
- Arm and disarm alarm systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
