About The Position

The Housekeeper provides a wide variety of cleaning services and related duties to keep the facilities clean and orderly. The role also includes occasional food handling and preparation duties. The work is in an assisted living facility and may involve assisting residents with general information or inquiries and obtaining products they request.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 6 months of experience demonstrating working knowledge of cleaning equipment, general cleaning processes, and food handling.
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and callouts.
Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Valid driver's license with a 3-year driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

Clean, sweep, mop, vacuum, sanitize, and restock assigned areas, including hallways, stairways, offices, food preparation or break areas, offsite areas, restrooms, and public areas.
Dust low and high areas and wipe or clean various surfaces.
Remove and transport trash to appropriate disposal areas.
Use appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for assigned tasks.
Maintain clean and orderly carts and storage areas.
Assist with laundry and linen removal as needed.
Replenish guest supplies and amenities as required.
Scrub, strip, extract, wax, and buff floors using appropriate equipment as needed.
Change light bulbs and perform light facility maintenance as needed.
Recognize and use appropriate personal protective equipment for each task.
Follow safety policies, requirements, and training.
Assist residents with general information and inquiries, and obtain products they request.
Prepare food products safely and efficiently while following standard food-handling procedures.
Stock storage areas with various products.
Occasionally prepare food or cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, and meats.
Report material discrepancies, damage, or theft to the manager or maintenance department.
