About The Position

The Laundry Attendant maintains clean linen and clothing by washing and drying them, and assists with janitorial services as needed to support the wellness and wellbeing of residents and others at The Pioneer Home. All duties are performed with a strong regard for the safety of the attendant and others. The position is based in an assisted living setting and may be cross-trained to work in janitorial and laundry duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and callouts.
• Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform the listed physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, handling or feeling with hands and fingers, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking, hearing, seeing, tasting, smelling, and carrying or lifting weight.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
• Sort, weigh, and load linens and residents’ personal clothing into washers and dryers.
• Safely operate washers and dryers.
• Maintain productivity standards.
• Remove linen promptly from dryers to prevent wrinkles.
• Fold linen according to established standards.
• Place folded linen on marked shelves and transport it to floor linen rooms in a timely manner.
• Check washing machine drains for clogs and inform engineering when maintenance is needed.
• Keep the laundry room organized and neat.
• Damp mop the laundry floor, clean washers and dryers, and clean lint traps daily.
• Empty all washers and dryers and turn off all machines at the end of the shift.
• Work in janitorial and laundry positions as required, including after cross-training.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Follow company work rules, procedures, and policies, including those in the associate handbook.
• Perform other duties pertinent to the department or unit’s success.

Benefits
