About The Position

The Housekeeper performs skilled and routine maintenance tasks necessary to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned units. The role follows management direction and the company’s “green” initiatives, completes housekeeping and laundry duties, and reports quality-control concerns, needed repairs, and safety issues to management. Physical presence at the job site is essential.

Requirements

Partial high school education; a high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
Strong sanitation habits and ability to learn and follow important safety precautions.
Strong customer-service abilities, including proactively looking for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
Ability to recognize problems and communicate them to management.
Ability to read and write work-related documents in English and communicate clearly in English with customers and coworkers.
Ability to perform the stated physical demands, including standing for the entire workday, regularly climbing steps, and lifting, carrying, or pushing up to 35 pounds regularly, 45 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work in wet and slippery conditions, frequently in hot and damp environments, and withstand temperature extremes indoors and outdoors.
Ability to be physically present at the job site.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas as directed by management and in compliance with the company’s “green” initiatives.
Change linens and make beds.
Dust and clean furniture, picture frames, mirrors, windows, baseboards, carpet edges, door panels, door ledges, and thresholds.
Remove trash from receptacles and tables and floors or grounds, replacing trash bags as needed.
Clean and vacuum under beds, desks, and gaming tables, and behind nightstands.
Check and replace missing room items, including soaps, shampoos, conditioners, hangers, clocks, ice bucket liners, hair dryers, brochures, and stationery.
Clean and ensure bathrooms and fixtures are free of spots, mold, mildew, and dust.
Sweep and mop bathroom floors.
Dust lights, sconces, make-up mirrors, and lampshades.
Perform laundry duties as assigned.
Notify the supervisor of housekeeping quality-control issues or needed repairs.
Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to a manager.
