About The Position

Valley Regional Hospital is seeking a housekeeper to join its Environmental Services Department. The role performs cleaning and related services throughout the hospital while maintaining a clean, neat, and sanitary environment. The housekeeper interacts courteously with patients, families, visitors, and staff, follows safety precautions, and handles trash and hazardous waste appropriately. The position is per diem with rotating shift assignments.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; alternatively, one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work day, evening, or night shifts as assigned.
High integrity and ability to follow procedures.
Ability to learn independently, take initiative, and learn complex processes.
Professional conduct and appropriate workplace behavior and communication.
Must maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Perform assigned tasks professionally and with integrity.
Clean patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.
Assist visitors with directions when requested and introduce yourself to patients, families, and visitors.
Report safety hazards as appropriate.
Transport trash and hazardous waste to an appropriate disposal area.
Replenish supplies.
Observe safety precautions at all times and maintain age-specific safety precautions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
