About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician maintains a clean, sanitary, orderly, and presentable hospital environment in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas. The role performs routine housekeeping tasks according to established schedules and procedures, using cleaning solutions and disinfectants to help prevent the spread of disease. The technician also demonstrates customer-service excellence when interacting with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping experience required.

• Previous hospital environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to customer-service excellence in interactions with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain clean work areas, including patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
• Maintain the overall sanitation, order, and appearance of the hospital.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
• Clean furnishings, floors, and equipment using cleaning solutions and disinfectants to help prevent the spread of disease.
• Dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture using dust cloths and a vacuum cleaner; empty ashtrays and trash buckets; and arrange furniture and equipment.
• Make beds with clean linen in the prescribed manner.
• Scour and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment.
• Replenish soap, towels, and other dispensable supplies.
