About The Position
The Housekeeper inspects hotel guest rooms and common areas to ensure they are cleaned according to standards. The role includes making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, restocking guest supplies, and vacuuming rooms and hallways. The position requires weekend work and may involve holidays, flexible hours, overtime, and helping other departments as needed. The hourly rate is $17.25.
Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift, grasp, or carry 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend with a full range of motion, including repeated bending for 4 hours.
- Ability to walk on uneven or slippery surfaces.
- Ability to understand English when instructions are given in English.
- Ability to operate a computer, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment, including a vacuum.
- Ability to use chemicals properly and safely.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and/or flexible hours.
- Willingness to work overtime.
Responsibilities
- Inspect guest rooms and common areas to ensure cleaning meets standards.
- Make beds using hospital corners and leave them wrinkle free.
- Clean bathrooms with appropriate cleaners, leaving chrome and tile spotless.
- Dust wall hangings, furniture, glass, molding, lamps, and other room areas.
- Restock guest supplies in guest rooms.
- Vacuum rooms and hallways.
- Help other departments when needed.
- Comply with hotel policies and procedures regarding attendance and attire.
