About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning assigned areas as requested, including public areas and resident rooms. The role supports the organization’s mission, vision, goals, and culture, and contributes to residents’ care, comfort, and happiness. The Housekeeper attends required training and staff meetings and performs other duties related to the success of the community.

Requirements

Previous housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.
General knowledge of housekeeping.
Ability to use all required equipment.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and vendors.
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
Strong understanding of English sufficient to read and write.
Ability to continuously walk and stand; sitting is infrequent.
Ability to perform work both indoors and outdoors.
Ability to lift, carry, and push: constantly 0–10 pounds, frequently 11–50 pounds, and occasionally 51–100 pounds.
Ability to frequently climb stairs; an elevator may be available as an alternative.
Ability to bend frequently at the waist, knees, hips, and spine, potentially while manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
Ability to squat frequently to reach below the knee, potentially lifting 50 pounds or less.
Ability to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck while manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
Ability to reach frequently, with occasional overhead reaching while manipulating up to 10 pounds and below-waist reaching while manipulating 25 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned public areas and resident rooms.
Clean restrooms, including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories, and fixtures in apartments and common areas.
Vacuum carpeted areas and mop tile floors.
Spot clean walls and windows.
Dust furniture and empty trash cans.
Clean baseboards, pictures, lights, and HVAC vents.
Assist with activity room set-ups, which may require moving furniture.
Attend training courses and maintain required monthly, quarterly, and annual training through the designated Learning Management System (LMS).
Attend all required all-staff meetings.
Support the organization’s mission, vision, goals, and culture.
Perform other duties as assigned that relate to the community’s success and residents’ care, comfort, and happiness.
