About The Position

The Housekeeper cleans and disinfects according to established protocols using appropriate cleaning equipment. The role provides housekeeping services for adolescent, child, adult, and geriatric patients and helps maintain an uncluttered, orderly facility. The position performs basic tasks under specific departmental policies and procedures to maintain an aseptic, clean, and attractive hospital environment.

Requirements

• Less than one year of experience.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Knowledge of equipment such as vacuums and commercial washers and dryers.
• Basic phone and computer skills, including email and texting.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of prior housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Spot clean walls, windows, furniture, and carpets.
• Disinfect sinks, tubs, mirrors, toilets, and urinals using proper techniques.
• Maintain adequate supplies of soap, towels, toilet tissue, and other necessary items.
• Make beds and sort and distribute linens.
• Clean and sanitize horizontal and lateral surfaces throughout the facility.
• Offer suggestions to improve work methods or procedures and participate in quality improvement.
• Use cleaning chemicals properly and safely according to department guidelines.
• Keep housekeeping carts and vacuums clean and in good working order.
• Report repairs or replacement needs and follow up to ensure repairs meet facility standards.
