About The Position

The Housekeeper I, Environmental Services, cleans and sanitizes rooms and furnishings according to established policies, procedures, and schedules to maintain hospital-wide cleanliness and sanitation standards. The role also stocks supplies in restrooms and appropriate rooms in the hospital and related buildings. The position is PRN/OCC with variable shifts at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, Tennessee.

Requirements

• No specific minimum education is required; an equivalent combination of formal education and/or prior work experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the role. This is typically equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
• No minimum experience is required.
• No licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas according to established schedules and prescribed methods.
• Assist with cleaning emergency spills when observed or upon request.
• Check assigned equipment daily for cleanliness and proper repair.
• Observe and report needed repairs to equipment, furnishings, buildings, and fixtures.
• Remove waste and soiled linens from work areas and place them in specified containers or bags; handle biohazardous waste properly.
• Monitor supplies and equipment and notify the supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
• Inspect completed tasks and assigned areas.
• Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards; complete required annual education assignments; work toward goals and objectives; and participate in quality-improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
