About The Position

Maintains cleanliness of hospital facilities in accordance with hospital, departmental, and regulatory agency requirements. Helps provide a safe, sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

• Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
• Can accurately and legibly complete required work assignment forms.
• Can follow instructions and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Knows safety procedures for disposing of biohazardous waste and other trash according to departmental procedures.
• Knows safety procedures for lifting and transferring equipment, supplies, and furniture.
• Can use assigned equipment safely and carefully.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of housekeeping or maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and restocks all assigned areas according to departmental standards and guidelines.
• Disposes of trash, biomedical waste, and solid waste in appropriate disposal areas.
• Prepares patient rooms for occupancy after patients are discharged.
• Replaces supplies as needed.
• Alerts the supervisor to potential problems and safety hazards.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.
