About The Position

Visiting Angels of Bettendorf is hiring Housekeeper and Companion Caregivers to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the Quad Cities area, including Davenport, Bettendorf, Eldridge, Pleasant Valley, Walcott, Petersburg, and Blue Grass. Caregivers help clients remain or recover at home with dignity through companionship, personal care, and household assistance. Client visits vary, and caregivers must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The role requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and compliance with state and office-specific health and safety standards. Pay is $14.00–$16.00 per hour. Shift options include full-time, part-time, 8-hour shifts, 12-hour shifts, PRN, and short shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Excellent time-management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
