About The Position

Visiting Angels of Edmond is hiring a Housekeeper and Companion Caregiver to support senior adults and other home-care clients in the local area, including Stillwater, Edmond, Guthrie, Seward, and Perkins. The role helps clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity by providing companionship and assistance with personal care, household tasks, meals, mobility, and other daily needs. Caregivers should be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The position offers a range of shift options, including full-time, part-time, PRN, and short shifts, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes and unusual circumstances.
