About The Position

Visiting Angels Athens is seeking compassionate Housekeeper and Companion Caregivers to support seniors and others in need in Greensboro and the surrounding area. The role combines companionship and personal assistance with tasks such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility support, and transportation. Caregivers help clients maintain dignity and independence, communicate concerns, and respond responsibly to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available. The position is offered on a full-time or part-time basis.

Requirements

• Passion for serving others and being a caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate approach.
• Good time management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ethics.
• Physical endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including for appointments and walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
• Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
