About The Position

Visiting Angels of Birmingham is hiring a Housekeeper and Companion Caregiver to support senior adults and other home-care clients throughout the local area, including Calera, Birmingham, Saginaw, Montevallo, Alabaster, and Pelham. Caregivers help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary according to client needs and abilities. The role requires compassion, sound professional judgment, and readiness to respond to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Requirements

Responsibilities

Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
Report health changes and unusual circumstances.
