About The Position

Visiting Angels Montgomery is seeking compassionate Companion Caregivers to serve seniors and others in need throughout Central Alabama, including Tuskegee. The role supports clients with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation. Caregivers also provide companionship, report unusual incidents, and respond responsibly to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available. The organization offers caregiver jobs on a full-time and part-time basis.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and caregiving.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including to appointments and on walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
